Baboo Stories (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you engage with the Baboo Stories mobile application and related services.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • App account and authentication identifiers: Firebase Authentication may create an app-scoped identifier used to unlock premium stories, authorize protected API requests, and connect app activity with subscription access.
  • Identifiers: The app may create or receive a device, installation, app instance, or transaction-related identifier. These identifiers may be stored locally and sent to the Baboo Stories backend.
  • Device and app metadata: Platform, operating system version, app version, timestamp, and connectivity-dependent registration status.
  • Usage data: Product interaction information such as screen views, story and category interactions, share taps, feedback submission attempts, and feedback submission success or failure.
  • Diagnostics: Other diagnostic data, including app events and technical information that help us understand reliability, errors, and performance.
  • User content: Feedback or customer support text entered by the user, plus timestamp and backend metadata needed to process the submission.
  • Purchase and subscription data: Purchase history and subscription information from Apple App Store or Google Play, such as product ID, transaction or order identifiers, purchase token or receipt information, purchase status, entitlement status, and renewal or expiry state.
  • Story and category API request data: Information required to deliver app content through the Baboo Stories backend.

2. How we use your information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and enhance the Baboo Stories experience.
  • Deliver stories, categories, and premium app features.
  • Verify subscriptions and maintain premium access.
  • Respond to feedback and provide customer support.
  • Monitor usage patterns to keep the app reliable and secure.
  • Understand app performance and improve reliability.

3. Children’s privacy

Baboo Stories is intended for parent-led family reading. The current app implementation does not require children to create accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Parents should not submit a child’s personal information through the feedback feature. If we become aware that we have unintentionally collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

4. Use of Firebase services

We use Firebase and Google Cloud services to support essential app functionality, including app authentication, analytics, and Firebase Cloud Functions used by the Baboo Stories backend. Firebase may process app instance identifiers, device information, and usage events according to Google’s policies. Some of this information may be linked to your app use so we can provide support, protect the service, measure product interaction, diagnose issues, and maintain premium access.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Baboo Stories supports subscriptions through Apple App Store and Google Play. Payments are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by Baboo Stories. We do not receive your full payment card details.

The app or backend may store purchase and subscription information needed to unlock premium access, such as product ID, transaction or order identifiers, purchase token or receipt information, subscription status, entitlement status, and renewal or expiry state.

6. Local device storage

The app stores a generated installation ID and registration metadata in local device storage using shared preferences. This helps keep the app working reliably and avoids duplicate registration calls.

7. Service providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers so they can perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud: App backend, app authentication, analytics, and Cloud Functions.
  • Apple App Store: Subscription purchase processing, receipts, and verification for iOS users.
  • Google Play Billing: Subscription purchase processing, order information, and verification for Android users.
  • Device share sheet and share_plus: Used only when you choose to share an invite link.
  • Cached network image and content hosting: Used when images or content are served remotely by our backend or storage providers.

These providers are expected to safeguard information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the app, maintain subscriptions, improve reliability, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Feedback, analytics, device registration records, support messages, and subscription entitlement records may be kept while they are needed for those purposes. You may contact us to request deletion of personal information associated with your use of Baboo Stories.

9. No advertising platforms or sensitive permissions

Baboo Stories does not run an advertising platform in the current app, and we do not use an ad network such as Google AdMob. The current app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or advertising ID permissions. The app does require internet access to deliver content, authenticate requests, submit feedback, and verify subscriptions.

10. Future updates

As we expand Baboo Stories, we may introduce new features that require additional information. Any updates to our data practices will be reflected in this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page regularly to stay informed.
